What More Could You Ask For?
Well, I pimped the Emergent Village blog pretty hot and heavy in today’s Emergent/C newsletter.
Here are a couple of the “testimonials” I shared:
“If you haven’t checked out the Emergent Village blog lately, there’s a lot of good and interesting stuff there.”
—Rudy Carrasco
“With the redesign of the Emergent Village web site, I’ve noticed that the blog has been infused with new life. ... Almost every new post on the Emergent blog is something of interest. The trick with this blog is pointing users to content elsewhere, which is fine by me. I’m glad someone is out there finding the best information about the emerging church and posting it in one place. We really need that, and Emergent has done a great job.”
—Ed Cyzewski
As Ed says, we’ve been trying to point to emerging church-related content on everything from books and events to topics and discussions related to theology and practice (even politics). But I’m wondering what you think.
What would you like to see more of? Less of? What are we missing altogether on the EV blog? Help clue me in with your thoughts and feedback in the comments. I’d appreciate it! Thanks.

Steve- I love keeping up with the Emergent Village website (the date of my comment indicates how long it’s taken me to go through my RSS though), and you really do a wonderful job with it! I must admit, however, that my stomach turned at your choice of “pimped . . . hot and heavy.” Maybe I’m just completely out of common word usage and the image doesn’t really have the connotation of de facto sexual slavery, but I can’t imagine I’m the only one for whom your language conjured up deeply sad imagery. I assume you were just trying to be light/cool/funny but know that you have better and more uplifting ways of doing so. Just sayin’!
Hey Emily, thanks for your comment and feedback! I appreciate your sensitivity to how that language, which has been adopted by our culture and domesticated (for the most part), still has quite negative implications. And the connection to sexual slavery—wow. I had not even considered that. Thanks for keeping me accountable! I receive your correction with humility and gratitude. Grace and peace.
