What Is a "Cohort"? Watch This Video
A new video was created recently that talks about Emergent Village cohorts, what they are, who they are, why they exist, etc. The video has been shown around the country during the “Everything Must Change” Tour, which Emergent Village helped sponsor. Jeff Kursonis has been traveling around connecting with people, and Jeff and Paul Soupiset did a lot of work to make this happen. Michael Wiser did some of the graphics. But the real big thanks goes to Doug Farris and Gravity Well Media for putting this all together!
Without further adieu, here it is, watch this and share it with others who might be wondering what this whole thing is about:

some of this is lighthearted, but I’m concerned for those that are truly trying to learn what this emergent church thing is about. it strikes a chord of being heaven’s gate like and even though it’s obvious to most that its a joke, stand-offish people might take it more seriously.
Thanks for making this available online. I’m leading a meeting Monday night in West Palm Beach in hopes of getting a cohort started there and this is helpful. Based on the reaction from folks at EMC, Jon Irvine’s spaceship comment will be a big hit.
I dunno… The presentation seems to fragmented and “sound bitten” to me. I didn’t really get the feeling for what’s so special about “cohorts” and get an idea of why I might want to join one. I’ve been a part of several groups where people regularly get together and have “conversations.” How are emergent cohorts different, distinctive?

I love it when we make fun of ourselves. And when the guy says, “We’re all waiting for this big space ship to kinda come down and zap us all up.” That’s funny.
