A Node in the Web of the Emerging Church
What I Learned On DougPagitt.com
Doug Pagitt has launched his new website, DougPagitt.com, in preparation for the release of his new book A Christianity Worth Believing.
Here are a few interesting facts I learned on Doug’s new site:
- Doug wants you to buy his new book.
- Doug is planning weekly podcasts and videocasts—probably posting them on Thursdays
- Doug is uncomfortable with the dialogue that takes place in the comments section on blogs, but he’s allowing it—even though he doesn’t plan to comment there himself.
- Doug refers to Emergent Village as “a social network of Christians around the world.”
- Besides running a property management business and Wellness Center in Minneapolis, Doug is also in business with Tony Jones (Emergent Village national coordinator) on an event production company called JoPa Productions.
- And the most interesting thing I learned while visiting the new DougPagitt.com ... Doug and Rob Bell are joining the Dalai Lama for an interfaith dialogue on “Youth and Spiritual Connection” at the Seeds of Compassion Gathering, April 11-15 in Seattle, Washington. That should be interesting …

Classic picture of Doug. I have never seen him in a button down or in a leafy garden. Methinks a sort of glamor shot?

I continue to stand by my assertion that Doug Pagitt is, in reality, the technoViking. he can say he’s writing books and shooting videos and hanging out with the Dalai Lama, but the truth is, he spends the majority of his time in Berlin, leading marches, dancing to techno, and beating up kids in tanktops. Just come clean, Doug…you can’t hide from your vikingness—your 13 feet tall for pete’s sake!
