Tony, thanks for the coverage of Australian stuff.
The small ‘churched’ population is both a huge opportunity to be innovative and a challenge as there is only a small flow of funds to support new church models.
Most Australians have formed a view of Christianity based on an authoritarian church – the very large portion of the population with a southern European heritage is probably a big part of that. Australians love being egalitarian, so any association with authoritarian models (or even with big nations like the USA) is a challenge. So, whilst there is a very small ‘churched’ population, that doesn’t translate to a completely clean slate when engaging local communities.
Come visit Melbourne sometime and see the most progressive and artistically active city in Australia!

Hi Tony, thanks for your discussions @ black stump. Slight correction to your post. AGMF/Easterfest is the largest christian music festival which is held in April, it’s attendance is 41,000 which is slightly higher than 4000 at Black stump
