Confession. I have more of a modern mindset. I read the book. Mostly enjoyed it. It gave me some reason to hope that mos and pomos may actually be on the same team.

I understandwhere Trucker Frank come from a relious view point. People were getting no help with their day to day problems and understand how a person can loose thier faith. Many of the 40ish people like myself are Trucker Frank. He is real and I know Jesus helps person the most whe peole are honest with Jesus.

It is great video and will pass the link on.

“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” What are you all doing?

There are those who ‘get it’ and those who don’t. May we endeavour to be those who get the intent of Jesus’ ministry to be in the world, love people, generously give, befriend tax gatherers and sinners … and enjoy partying with them! ‘Contending,’ I’m concerned for you as I’m afraid you may become like the pharisees of Jesus’ day who, because of the stark black and white contrast which they saw in every situation, couldn’t enter the beautiful, colourful, glorious, awesome—and very present—kingdom of God.

Friend of the world?”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son….” Jn.3:16. Thanks to you all for getting “it”. Don’t be too hard on #5, I walked in those shoes for so long myself.
Love,peace,and grace in the Kingdom.
Frank

Frank,
I’m from Brian McLaren’s age era..maybe a little older. Thanks for your journey. Keep loving on those whom God sends your way.

What we strive for (and have since the Garden) is control. The Garden was about control instead of surrender. As Christians, we acknowledge we have no control (even over our salvation). Why then must we try and control others who are in various states of grace? Our message of hope is that control doesn’t work so let’s let go of it and surrender to grace. The world is divided then into those who control and those who surrender and we must help release those who are entangled in control. To the extent that they resist, we will back off but never lose hope and always be ready to help.
