LeRon Shults on "Christology and Science"
LeRon Shults, Professor of Theology and Philosophy at the University of Agder in Norway, has a new book out entitled Christology and Science, which he’ll be speaking on this Thursday, October 30, at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago.
As the book’s description states, “Shults explores the traditional Christological themes of incarnation, atonement, and parousia in relation to current insights from evolutionary biology, cultural anthropology, and physical cosmology in order to develop a theological account of Christ’s identity, agency, and presence—in each case reflecting on the philosophical challenges presented.”
Scot McKnight blogged through the book back in September.
Two excerpts from earlier drafts of the book were posted on Shults’ blog during the writing process: Relationality, Mathematics and Christology and The Agency of Jesus Christ.
In other LeRon news: Shults’ newest book is on The Holy Spirit, and he’s also written recently on the subject of “Reforming Ecclesiology in Emerging Churches.”
