Emerging in Malaysia: The Micah Mandate
Sivin Kit has been posting hints on his blog about the launch of a new project called The Micah Mandate, which is “a Christian-based public interest advocacy that seeks a transformation of our nation through justice, mercy and humility (Micah 6:8, Holy Bible).”
The project is a “result of the concerns and aspirations of a group of Christians who are praying that all Malaysians in general and Christian Malaysians in particular will be more constructively engaged in matters of social conscience, public service and nation building rather than to only remain in comfortable armchairs criticising other people and institutions.”
Today marks the official “soft launch” of The Micah Mandate website. Congrats to Sivin and the other initiators of this project for seeking creative ways to navigate faith and public policy in Malaysia.
