Karen Ward asked me to post this announcement that there is an immediate opening to serve at Church of the Apostles in Seattle as “Community Architect.” Here is the brief job description:

Job Posting: Church of the Apostles Community Architect

Job Status: Full Time
Salary: $32,000 + DOE
Closing Date: August 25, 2008
Synopsis: The community architect connects, organizes and cares for COTA members for active participation in COTA community, mission and service, coordinating and facilitating the internal and external communication of COTA’s life and mission, managing the COTA office, managing hospitality for COTA guests and visitors, coordinating logistics and volunteers, in coordination with COTA’s Abbess.

Job Description

Act as the chief administrator of COTA’s daily operations

Provide leadership for and care of COTA group leaders and community members

Share with COTA staff and community, the ministry of discerning gifts, encouraging and integrating new apostles and their gifts within the community

Actively participate in and contribute your voice and giftings to COTA staff to serve the community, ministry, and missional needs of Church of the Apostles

Support the COTA community through collecting, managing, and disseminating information

Qualifications:

Faith in Jesus Christ

Belief in the Apostles Creed

Passion for community development in the emergent church

Ability to work independently

Computer skills; word processing, PowerPoint, database applications
