An Important Moment for Emergent Village

A few weeks ago, I invited you to participate in a survey about the future of Emergent Village. The introductory letter and survey options were developed by the board of directors as we prepare Emergent Village for its next chapter.
Well, the board and I were astounded by the response. Over 2,000 people completed the survey in just a couple of weeks, and hundreds of you left comments and indicated a willingness to have a board member contact you to have a further conversation about EV.
We’re still tabulating the results and reading through the thousands of words left in the comment fields, but I can tell you that the option of closing down Emergent Village was the clear loser.
So, Emergent Village will continue, and what we’ll decide about how we continue will be determined in large part by what you wrote and how you voted, and we plan to present you with a plan for the next chapter of Emergent Village by September 1.
But in the meantime, we need your help. Like a lot of non-profit organizations, this economy has meant lean times. Add to that the usual dip in giving in the summer, and that makes it extra lean.
We’ve done everything we can to cut expenses for now, but even so, we need your financial help.
If the 2,000 of you who care enough about Emergent Village to complete that survey each contributed $100 today, we’d be in the clear for months to come. Please consider it.

I just learnt about this site through begining to read a Generous Orthodoxy. and I am so pleased to here that you are keeping your webiste going. I was starting to think just a day ago that I was a loner in the christian world becasued I wasn’t prepaired to believe much of what I was being taught and yet I really get what Jesus did for me. Feeling like I don’t fit in, I havn’t attended church in over a year and my faith has growen amazingly. Now I want to reconnect and can’t find a place to do so. But on my search, I get the feeling that this is a place I can have some connection to prevent the discoragment and lonliness. Thanks guys and some funds will be coming your way soon!
