Worship in a Postmodern Accent

Posted Apr 21, 04:21 AM | 1 comments | by Steve Knight | Link

How and where does worship fit into the myriad of sensory experiences in contemporary culture? Is it pushed to the margins, or can it be re-envisioned to fit squarely in the center of our lives? How can we conduct worship in a way that is molded by and relevant to who we are, which may seem absent from our houses of worship. In short, how can we create “worship in a postmodern accent”?

Jonny Baker and Ed Phillips will help us live into and create out of these questions through workshops, spiritual formation practices, and conversations. This is a workshop when you will learn and generate ideas in “real time” through a hands-on creation of a worship experience amidst the night life of “Bricktown” in Oklahoma City. On Saturday, we’ll process the experience of creating and engaging the worship space and how it informs our thinking about “emerging worship.”

November 6-8, 2008
at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
