  1. Explaining Post Modernism

Merriam-Webster: Either "of, relating to, or being an era after a modern one", or "of, relating to, or being any of various movements in reaction to modernism that are typically characterized by a return to traditional materials and forms (as in architecture) or by ironic self-reference and absurdity (as in literature)", or finally "of, relating to, or being a theory that involves a radical reappraisal of modern assumptions about culture, identity, history, or language".

Post Modernism is a term that you should not be afraid of. However, the churches of today will say it is a fad and "you shouldn't be involved in it". One of the reasons they say that is exactly why I am a Post Modern Christian. [They] want "control". Control of you and your money.

A post modern would challenge the use of money in the 21st century. Take for instance the "Westboro Baptist Church" the flag burning hate mongering congregation! Legalistic hate mongers. Flying all over the country screaming at funerals of dead soldiers that they are "fags" and "Killers" So sad we can't tax them and close them down [only because they are mis-using their money].

But, this country gives them the full freedom and privilege to destroy the Gospel , and claim their message is from God. NOT MY GOD!

My God knows that the "good news" of Jesus that the Kingdom has come to earth, and that the Kingdom of Heaven is "within" not "without", will never change or die. It's the same forever. I wouldn't want to be involved in a legalistic church these days, and I will never join another one.

If we assume that Christianity is true, and there will be a judgment, somebody is going to be help accountable for allowing a congregation to make up their own rules. In other words what they tell you, you must follow of else you are wrong.

Reminds me of the Buffalo Springfield's protest song "For What It's Worth", "No body is right, if every body is WRONG!"

Post Modernist doesn't take everything they hear or see as fact, remember in the new Testament Jesus ask his followers not to take everything the Pharisee's said or told people, as factual.

Well if someone tells me that the world is going to end in 2012, I a Post Modern Christan will go ahead and plant my crops, but all the while challenging that particular assertion of authority, since God said there would be no more Prophets in our time. Where do these people get off scaring and causing division and strife in God's people?

If God told them that the world was going to end in 2012, wouldn't he have told you and me? I am under the impression that NO ONE will know!
